Potty Training Week 4 Diary!

"I just peed in my pants and crocs." This made me laugh, although I felt bad for rushing to empty my bladder first and returning to Caleb standing there looking down at his wet crocs. We had gone to pick up Speedy from the groomer and almost made it! Oh well. Accidents will happen!

This week started off with Kerry asking Caleb if he wanted to pee like Daddy. "Yes!" Kerry showed him how its done and BOOM we are moving along on this potty train and standing up like a big boy should! This makes me VERY happy as this is a lot easier and cleaner than sitting and hoping it doesn't shoot into his clothing. He has amazing aim too! We just tell him to shoot for the water and away he goes! He still likes to grab some toilet paper, toss it in and flush and sometimes even forgets his reward....which I like, because how many jelly beans does a kid really need in a day?

Still no success with poop in potty. However, we have moved away from poopy pants. Caleb has turned his poop clock onto nap time so he can easily go in his diaper, which apparently is still the most comfortable way to go. This is better than rinsing the dirties, but I try and have him sit before his nap and go on the potty, it just hasn't worked yet. He will seriously get his diaper on and 5 minutes later after we have left the bathroom.....POOP! He will also pull the stalling technique of "I have to go poopy" right before bedtime. I obviously sit him down in hope that he may really go, but that has yet to happen. Just my brilliant 2 year old's plan for staying up and getting more stories!

We have had dry naps a few times this past week and last night his diaper was barely full. Amazing! I am a proud Mom. I only hope this success continues once baby arrives and we don't relapse. The journey continues!
