14 months!

This past month Kieran (left) not only cruises at lightening speed, he started crawling too! Woohoo! Better late than never right? 4 top teeth also popped out in a matter of weeks. He is still my super sleeper and loves his big brother to no end. Anything he is doing or eating, he wants to try. He has found the joy of ketchup not for dipping, but mostly just licking! He still loves to fling unwanted food sky high which is quite funny, but we have to break this bad habit before it gets worse so the squirt bottle is always near by. Any time Caleb hears a peep out of Kieran, "I think he needs a spray" and boy when he sees that bottle does his expression change from happy to frightened real fast! He has gotten so mobile, he doesn't want to miss a minute of the action so diaper changes have become quite a feat so I am giving the new Huggies Slip Ons a try. So far, the guy has been easy to change since getting them so I cannot say how much they have helped my situation thus far, go figure. I can add "duck" to Kieran's vocab along with new animal sounds, "Mooo" and "Oooh Oooh, Oooh" for a monkey which will be good in time for Halloween. He is starting to test his balance and stand for longer periods of time without holding onto anything and slowly pushing some toys along while walking behind. He is my little baby who is growing up so big, so fast.

Caleb is also my little boy who is growing up so fast. He truly loves his brother. He began this "boop" game where he touches his nose with a finger and says "boop". Kieran repeats it with a "boop" back and sometimes when he sees Caleb he automatically says "boop"! Too cute. He loves to pray now at the table and it is so very precious and genuine. "Thank you Jesus for this day, for our food and for our family. Amen." We keep telling him he can add more things to his prayer, but isn't quite ready yet. He loves to play with any kids who are willing wherever we go, but his best friends are Maddie & Nico Odegaard, who are the 2 older kids of some of our best friends from California. I love to see the joy on their faces when they get to see each other. Its a really special bond they share. My little boy will be starting pre-school next month and he is really excited. He told me awhile back that pre-school is for kids and mommy and daddy have to drop him off. He is so ready to go. His Spiderman backpack is waiting patiently. His swimming skills have also advanced very well this summer. He has no fear. He wanted a surf board to go to the beach so we got one, yet we didn't have a beach. We found beach! 3 hours away at Indiana Dunes and it was glorious. It brought back so many memories of San Diego and how I wished for a beach for my boys to play on. Just to see his delight was priceless. He was a bit afraid of surfing, but running from the waves was fun enough!

Hopefully by next update Kieran will be walking and I will have a proud pre-schooler!
