Grampy Bob visits!

This past weekend my Dad came to visit and meet his newest grandson, Kieran. The minute he walked in the door he reached out for him and held him close. Then Caleb immediately said, "Come see my room." so he did just that. Grampy brought him a few birthday presents, a new fish aquarium lamp (the model we had was recalled and I was just about to get another one, good thing I didn't!) as well as a new fish tank for real fish! Caleb loves to get presents!

On Saturday Grampy and Caleb set up the fish tank before we went to downtown Carmel walked around a car festival and grabbed lunch at Mudbug's Cajan Cafe. It was sprinkling lightly, but still nice to walk around for a bit. We passed at Dairy Queen on the way home and of course we had to stop for my Dad's favorite treat, dilly bars! We stopped at Petsmart to get a few fish for Caleb's new aquarium which he held the whole way home. He named them Nemo and Dori and unfortunately, one of them has already kicked the bucket! At least Caleb knows about death since losing his pet hamster Lola. "We have to get another one!" Later that night we headed out to dinner at Mudsock's and of course my Dad needed another ice cream treat so we took him to Handel's where he was anticipating his Pistachio ice cream but decided to get Coconut Cream Pie instead.....good decision. One of my new favorites.

Sunday was Grandparent's Day so it was nice to have one in town! Caleb brought him a card and said, "Thank you for being my Grampy." My Dad took Caleb out on the kayak and they played in the sand box before having lunch together on the couch. Caleb had to sit by Grampy. They later took a walk along the trail down by the river before coming home to relax and watch the Colt's game before dinner. Kerry barbequed his famous burgers and we had My Dad's sweet corn, the best corn in Indiana! Yummy treat!

Monday morning my Dad's visit came to an end. It was great to see him play with Caleb and want to love and hold Kieran as well. Warmed my heart. Hopefully he enjoyed visiting our home in the Midwest and will return again some day soon! Love you Dad, thank you for coming to visit us!
