I was due on Saturday, June 19th and was hoping not to make my Friday, June 18th appointment, but I did. To my surprise I was already 6cm at my 10am visit so I asked if I could go to the hospital for fear I would miss my epi on the rocks opportunity. The doctor was surprised I had not felt any contractions. What can I say, I guess I have high pain tolerance and maybe j

ust didn't notice any yet! She told me I could head to the hospital about 4pm. I was still worried about that since Caleb came within 4.5 hours of feeling the first contraction. Once I got home, we took a walk and I started feeling some contractions, just not consistent enough to call the doctor back yet. I had some lunch and kept walking around the house hoping they would speed up a bit so

we could get going and about 2pm I felt like I needed to get there so they gave me the go ahead. We arrived at 245pm and I was now 8cm, yet my contractions still were not close or painful one bit. When they asked me my pain level on a scale of 0-10, 10 being highest, I had to fudge and say a 2 or 3 even though it was probably 0! I was getting nervous I may not get my drugs in time and I was not about to experience this all natural, no thank you! I got my epidural and they broke my water soon after and I was still sitting at 8cm. Kerry and I watched the Proposal while we waited for this little bundle to make its way. I was hoping for a 6/18 at 6:18pm birth because I have a 10/14 at 10:14am birth, so I thought that might be cool, but it didn't happen. Kerry guessed 7:35pm. The doctor came in at 725pm and I was ready to go! 17 minutes later we met our little bundle at 7:48pm! ANOTHER BOY! We were thrilled either way, but love keeping our kids surprises, makes the experience so much more exciting! As they lay him on my lap, I broke down in tears over the amazing wonder before me.
Thank you Lord for a healthy, beautiful addition to our family.
