I was inspired to highlight a few mother's in my life who have made a difference and should feel appreciated today.
Patricia Harrington: Although God only gave me 11 years with you, I am thankful for you. I don't remember much before you got sick, but I know you wanted the very best for me and you gave me your best. I love looking at pictures of us because all I see is your smiles and your warm embrace. I love you for fighting for us and not giving up until there was no more left to give. Thank you for inspiring me to do the same with my family. I love you Mom! (10-30-88)
Julie Little: My dearest friend since 3rd grade. Words cannot express your faithfulness and love for me over the past 25 years. You define what is good and true for a friendship to become a special bond of sisterhood. You are my first call whether it be a "mommy" question or to reminisce about an elementary school friend we recently found on Facebook. I cannot imagine my life without you in it and I am so very thankful for you.
Lindsay Harrington: My older sister and new mother. I am thankful for your generous, compassionate heart. You give so much of yourself and expect nothing in return. I celebrate you on this day for having the chance to experience one of the best gifts in life, being a mother.
Mary Snyder: Before we met, I was a motherless daughter. I longed to fill that void in my life and you welcomed me with open arms 10 years later when I started dating Kerry. For the past 12 years you have loved me like your own, been a mentor mother to me and the godly woman I hope to someday become. Thank you for touching my life and always being there for me.
Betty Harrington: My Granny. Thank you for spoiling me as a kid and making your house an exciting place to visit. Thank you for tricking me into believing in Santa and for all of the trips we took as a family that I do not remember. Thank you for giving up your life to come and care for us after losing Uncle Rick and Mom. Thank you for exemplifying unconditional love to Dad, Lindsay and I for so many years.
Linda Berryman: A mother and new grandmother to my sister's daughter. A woman who exhibits such joy and a love for life. I am grateful for you because you too have been like a mother to my sister for many years. I can't thank you enough for loving my sister as your own. A cancer survivor, now a cancer fighter again. I pray you will win this fight.
Bethany Odegaard: A dear friend from college in San Diego. We parted ways for 6 years only to be reunited again in Indiana. You are a model mother to me. You encourage and inspire me to be the best I can be. I look up to you for godly wisdom and strength in my times of need. You behold an amazing love that is overflowing and clearly written on the faces of your children.
