Since Caleb is taking a well needed nap right now, I figured I could update you on our trip thus far. Caleb (a.k.a AMAZING TRAVELER) flew great all the way to Boston! Luckily we had empty seats available so he could stretch out and not feel so cramped. We just had Tuesday in Boston and we walked through Boston Common and over to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market to grab my first New England meal.....Fried Clams! Later in the evening we walked down Newbury Street and just admired what we certainly don't have in AZ! I love Boston because you can walk for miles and it only feels like a few blocks. I later enjoyed a nice bowl of clam chowdah and shrimp for dinner with a finale of creme brulee.....the best in Boston! (The restaurant is really called finale!) Heard about it on Unwrapped. I was telling Kerry it is amazing what you can learn on Unwrapped!
We got into Cooperstown Wednesday after what seemed like a never ending drive, thankfully it was beautifully scenic! My mapquest and Kerry's GPS failed us so it took an extra hour to finally get here from Boston. My favorite part of this adventure was when Kerry's Iphone GPS blinks that we had arrived at our hotel when both sides of the road were forest! You have to laugh at circumstances like these, but not too hard with a full bladder! We enjoyed a lovely stroll on Main Street, although most shops had closed down by 5pm for the day. We received a recommendation to eat at Doubleday Cafe which was spot on. Everyone in this town is so friendly :) They come up and start talking to you like you were old friends. We visited the Baseball Hall of Fame today which has been a dream destination of Kerry's the last few times we have visited back East. I finally caved and said, sure let's drive 4 hours (well, really 5 due to our failed navigation). I am not much for museums, but I have to say it was pretty cool to see Schilling's bloody sock! After Caleb's nap we will head back into town, meet up with Kerry (who stayed behind to admire more of the museum) and hopefully get another recommendation from some friendly folk on where to have dinner. Friday we are off to Plymouth, MA to meet up with family before heading back into Boston for our finale......RED SOX GAME!
Today we remember 9/11 and we happen to be in NY.
