Welcome Home!

Well, my single mother experiment has come to a close. I must say it was quite a success! Yes, it was lonely without Kerry, but he was following his heart, serving God in a country that needed his helping hand. When I saw Kerry, tears dropped from my eyes. (Again, would normally not shed a tear.......crazy mother emotions!) When Caleb saw his Daddy, smiles and laughter greeted him, which made a few more tears drop! Kerry was thrilled by his reaction and I was too. I think he probably wondered where on earth he had been all this time? I am overjoyed to have my husband home and thankful that God watched over Caleb and I while he was away. Welcome home buddy!

San Diego Getaway!

I am a proud mother. Caleb loves the airport and all of the different things to see. He was great on the plane, content as could be for our first flight experience. On the way home a lady next to us asked if he flew a lot because he was so good. Besides Caleb being mistaken for a girl numerous times at the airport, traveling was not so difficult by myself.

We had a great time visiting my best friend Julie and her daughters in San Diego. Our time flew by way too fast! The weather was beautiful and we even got to take a quick trip to the beach!

A reason to hug your Dad!

I could have used a box of kleenex today during service. To celebrate Father's Day, my church welcomed Charlotte and Emmitt Ray. A couple I had never heard of will now forever be remembered in my heart. I was never an emotional person until I became a mother. Very few things would cause me to shed a tear. I don't know why. They shared a story of loss and hope, emphasizing God's plan in their life. If you have a few minutes, I encourage you to visit this link: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=rayofhope

We ended church today with He Knows My Name. I could barely sing along as I bawled at the wondrous love our Father has for us!

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and He hears me when I call

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go

Dad, I love you very much and wish I could give you a big hug today! I am glad you are enjoying Father's Day in the Bahamas. Thank you for giving me your best.

I hate Scorpions!

If there is one thing I could do without in Arizona, it would be SCORPIONS!! I can take 115 degrees any day over those nasty little creatures! I hate having to look down as I walk around my house. I should be able to walk shoeless, not having to worry about these icky pests waiting to sting at my feet! I love how the previous owners of our house said they saw 2 Scorpions inside during the 8 years they resided here. I would estimate at least 2 a month inside the house! We had pest control for nearly 4 years and I never noticed a real difference so we canceled that service to save money! I just walked past Speedy and luckily did not step on it, but I noticed it nearly an inch from his nose on my way back into the dining room! As Speedy lay still, I quickly grabbed a cup and magazine to scoop it up and flush it down the toilet! It scurried around and tried to escape its death, but I was able to catch it! I worry about my dear Caleb who will soon be crawling and loves to walk around the dining area in his Mini Maestro! I not only have to be on baby patrol, but Scorpion patrol! What a pain!

Now Lemons? What next?

If you are like me, you always ask for a lemon in your water at a restaurant. Not anymore! Lately tomatoes have been a cause for alarm and stores and restaurants have them on hold per the FDA. I hear of an outbreak of Hep A at a Chipotle and am now fearful of eating at one of my favorite establishments! Today I hear a news story on lemons being tested for bacteria at restaurants and what did they find.............BACTERIA!! I guess this is no surprise, everything we touch and eat comes with a side of bacteria. I am still alive, I have not caught any diseases thankfully, but I am now encouraged to update my vaccinations! I guess I won't be saying, "Ice water with lemon please" for awhile.

Welcome Emma Rose!

Two of our dearest friends, Chris & Katie Miller just welcomed a baby girl to their family! Katie had a hunch she was carrying a girl this time as her pregnancy was completely different from her son's! Congratulations to you both! We love you!

Off to Africa!

Kerry and his team left for Africa yesterday morning and they safely arrived in Johannesberg today (really tonight since they are about 9 hours ahead of us!) Tomorrow they will be off to Malawi! I am on day 2 of being a single mom and Caleb and I are doing just fine! I will admit it does get lonely in the evenings without him around! Today I have to get some crickets for Liliana our gecko so she doesn't die of starvation. Kerry said he had meal worms in the fridge, but when I checked yesterday they were motionless.......hmmm.

Welcome to Team Snyder!

I decided to start my own family blog because it is the hip thing to do! I mean really. Who doesn't have a blog these days? I enjoy reading other blogs, so hopefully you will enjoy mine too! Wish me luck!
